I utilized my Pyle stand to support my heavy Mackie powered speaker, opting not to use the flat platform to minimize the risk of it being knocked over. This is the second set of these stands I've used, and they've performed admirably in all cases. I did use the flat top of one stand to hold my Yamaha mixer, adding a wooden top over the smaller metal plate to create a raised edge for better stability. The three legs spread out nicely for stability or can be pulled in for placement in smaller areas.
